SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER


We are looking to expand our design team and seek an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to have the desire to run medium sized projects and have the skills and experience to undertake a client facing role in the development, design and co-ordination of engineering projects.

 

The successful engineer would need to demonstrate experience in a wide range of project types and systems and be familiar with industry standards.

 

It is expected that you will progress quickly to achieve a good commercial awareness and technical knowledge relevant to building services design, industry standards and capable of incorporating those technologies into any project.

 

The engineer should be educated to degree level in Building Services Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 3/4 years industry experience and chartered or working towards chartered status. Able to demonstrate a continued Professional Development Programme.

 

The main job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Role & Responsibility

 

  • Preparing plans, specifications and schedules for the works
  • Producing reports in support of the design concepts with regard to compliance with   standards and best practice
  • Liaising with others in the design team
  • Inspecting installations and reviewing progress quality and performance tests
  • Supporting the design team and client with regard to Operation and ongoing maintenance


Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Environmental Engineering


Preferably a member of a recognised industry body:

 

  • CIBSE member
  • Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers 


Desirable Skills

 

  • Autocad
  • SBEM
  • Revit/Navisworks
  • Hevacomp
  • BREEAM principles
  • Building Regulations and Industry standards BS and EN

 

Experience

 

  • At least 3 years with a recognised company
  • Project experience preferred within a number of market sectors to include commercial, retail, industrial, Data centres.


Job Type: Permanent, Full-time. Salary is dependent upon on experience.


Must live within a commutable distance from the Harrow office.
